Step 1. Choose a Phone Method to Add

In the “Add a method” pop-up window, click the down arrow and select one of these options (You can add the other phone methods one at a time):

  1. Phone: Choose if you are adding your primary phone number (ex. personal cell phone).

  2. Alternate phone: Choose if you are adding add a secondary phone number (ex. home phone).

  3. Office phone: Choose if you are adding a work phone (PCCC Employees).

Step 2. Enter your Phone Number

Choose one of the two options of for phone authentication to choose from:

  1. Receive a code: Choose this to get texted a code that you would use to authenticate.

Note

Please make sure that the phone you use can receive text messages if you choose this option.

  1. Call me: Choose this to get a phone call from your phone

  1. and authenticate by dialing the “#” key.

When you are done, click Next.

Step 3. Verify your Phone

Please follow the instructions for the phone method that you chose.

A. “Receive a code” Option

If you chose “Receive a code”, you will be texted a 6-digit code within along with the following message:

“Use verification code (6-digit code) for Microsoft authentication.”

Please type that code into the space labeled “Enter code”, and then click Next.

If you don’t get a code after a couple of minutes, click “Resend code” or click Back and then Next again.

After this, you will get a confirmation page stating that you were able to register your phone as a multifactor authentication method using the “Receive a code” feature.

B. “Call me” Option

If you have chosen call mechoose “Call me”, you will receive a call from 973-our IT Support phone number at (973) 684-6464. Answer the phone and push # to verify when promptedphoneAuth4.pngImage RemovedPlease answer the call, and when you are prompted, please press the pound key (#) on your keypad.

Cell phone users: If your phone doesn’t ring for numbers unknown to your device, please save our IT Support number in your contacts.

After pressing #, your sign-in will be confirmed in the call, and you will get a confirmation page stating that you were able to register your phone as a multifactor authentication method using the “Call me” feature.

Step 4 Set your default sign-in method

To ensure that you are prompted to sign - in using your authentication of choice click the change link next to the Default sign-in method. If it isn’t set, it will say Set default sign-in method
