Problem

My financial situation has changed. What can I do to see if I qualify for more financial assistance?

Solution

The Office of Financial Aid will consider special circumstances, which may affect your need, on a case-by-case basis.

Reasons that may be considered for a Special Circumstances Review include:

  • loss of income due to layoff
  • disability
  • divorce
  • separation or loss of untaxed benefits 

If you feel you have an extreme situation that may allow for a Special Circumstances Review.

The student will need to visit campus and speak with a Financial Aid Counselor to determine the documents to submit for:

  • special circumstances
  • dependency override
  • professional judgment
