PCCC recommends adding multiple methods of authentication to your account, with options including:

You must have access to one of these methods when you sign in.

The following instructions will guide you on how to set up your cell phone or office phone to receive notifications – either through text or call – to verify your identity when prompted for multifactor authentication.

Instructions

Step 1. Choose a Phone Method to Add

On your desktop, visit https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo to access the “Security info” settings for your PCCC account.

Click Add sign-in method.

In the “Add a method” pop-up window, click the down arrow and select one of these options (You can add the other phone methods one at a time):

  1. Phone: Choose if you are adding your primary phone number (ex. personal cell phone).

  2. Alternate phone: Choose if you add a secondary phone number (ex. home phone).

  3. Office phone: Choose if you are adding a work phone (PCCC Employees).

Step 2. Enter your Phone Number

Enter your phone number in the blank space next to the country code.

If your phone number is not a United States number, please change the country code using the dropdown.

Choose one of the two options for phone authentication to choose from:

  1. Receive a code: Choose this to get texted a code that you would use to authenticate.

Please make sure that the phone you use can receive text messages if you choose this option.

  1. Call me: Choose this to get a phone call from your phone and authenticate by dialing the “#” key.

When you are done, click Next.

Step 3. Verify your Phone

Please follow the instructions for the phone method that you chose.

A. “Receive a code” Option

If you chose “Receive a code”, you will be texted a 6-digit code along with the following message:

“Use verification code (6-digit code) for Microsoft authentication.”

Please type that code into the space labeled “Enter code”, and then click Next.

If you don’t get a code after a couple of minutes, click “Resend code” or click Back and then Next again.
