Remote access for employees
The college provides several options for full-time employees needing to work remotely due to business travel or campus closings related to inclement weather. For guidelines pertaining to remote work, please contact the Human Resources department.
Available services
Cisco Webex softphone and mobile app: This service allows employees to make and receive calls using their PCCC phone number from their smartphone or a softphone (i.e., application installed on a computer).
Virtual Desktop PC (mydesktop): This service provides secure access to a virtual desktop through a web browser. It allows employees to securely connect to on-campus resources from a home PC or college-owned laptop.
Loaner laptop: The IT department maintains a pool of laptop computers for temporary assignment. Supervisors may request a laptop for an employee, which may be borrowed for up to two weeks. Requests should be emailed to itsupport@pccc.edu.
Employee requirements
Employee must provide their own Internet access when working remotely
Employee must comply with all applicable Human Resources policies and guidelines
Supervisor approval is required prior to allocation of computer assets or remote access to applications
