Before picking up your new laptop, you will need to back up all your personal files. Once this has been completed, you can schedule a time to receive your laptop and be onboarded.
You may Need:
- A large USB thumb drive or external hard drive
USB or External Drive Step-by-step guide
- Insert the USB or external hard drive into the Laptop
- Copy over files you have created or stored on the laptop. You may want to open your user folder and check for files in:
- Desktop
- Documents
- Downloads
- Music
- Pictures
- You can also back up your bookmarks. to do so click on the link of the browser you wish to backup.
Remember to copy the files, not the shortcuts. You can tell a shortcut as it has a small arrow in the bottom left of the icon.
