Why can't my students access my course materials?
Problem
When students can’t access a course, most of the time it has to do with enrollment or login issues. However, the way you design a course can also affect student access. Do not make any external tools such as Zoom or Attendance the first item on your course menu, or the landing page or entry point for your course. If you do so, your students will get stuck in an endless loop and not be able to access the rest of the course material!
If this has happened, you can easily fix it by changing your course entry point.
Other reasons students cannot see course material include having them hidden. Use the Student Preview Mode to see what the students' are seeing. You may need to make the course menu available, change the display dates on the content or remove some other restriction.
Solution
Reorder and manage course menu links
and/or
Changing your course entry point
Go to your Control Panel (underneath your course menu), click Customization, then Teaching Style, then scroll to the section labeled SELECT COURSE ENTRY POINT. From the Entry Point pull-down menu, select a content area for your course, such as your Start Here page, or Course Materials, or anything that is not a link to an external product such as Zoom or Attendance.
