Problem

A sign on error displays when trying to access Blackboard.  Here is one example, though there are others, such as "Authentication request has expired."

Solution

It appears there was a timeout after a period of inactivity. Here are some potential solutions you can try, one at a time:
  1. Clear your browser's cache and history.

  2. Close the browser and reopen. 

  3. Try another browser.

  4. If you have not powered off your computer in some time, take time to do that now.  Then restart your computer.  Our computers are working overtime and they need a quick refresh too.

  5. Try another device.
